Excellent sounding antique tiger maple back full size violin made in Germany around 1930s.
This beautiful violin has a finely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. It has no open cracks or open seams, and only some minor signs of intensive use due to its age. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back – as well as ribs and neck – is nicely flamed maple. The violin has been checked by our luthier and our violin player on playability. It received a new bridge and new strings. Pegs and fingerboard, tailpiece and chinrest are ebony.
Measures aprox.: total 59,5 cm / 23.42′, body 36 cm / 14.17′, vibrating chord length 32,5 cm / 12.79′, weight 451 gr / ~15.94 oz.
