It has a slightly higher arching which gives extra resonance and a full powerful voice. The belly is constructed with Canadian Engelman spruce with double purfling around the edge. The back is flamed maple with a Gasparo da Salo emblem in the centre.

This violin of 1670 represents Nicolaus Amati’s long-cornered design, emulating the work of Nicolo’s grandfather, Andrea Amati.

The Sound of this violin is a characteristic strong, warm and slightly dark tone.
This violin was made by a Single Luthier from start to finish. It has been antiquated slightly for an authentic Italian appearance. The finish is a genuine Italian oil varnish.

This violin of 1670 represents Nicolo Amati’s long-cornered design, emulating the work of Nicolo’s grandfather, Andrea Amati.

This is an excellent violin with an outstanding one piece maple back. The maple has deep grains and the flaming is very clear. There is beautiful matching flamed maple on the sides, neck and scroll.  The top is a really fine grain spruce with consistent grain throughout. It has genuine Italian oil varnish which is non antiqued.

The Sound of this violin is a warm tone which is powerful enough for a soloist.
This violin was made by a Single Luthier from start to finish. It has been antiquated slightly for an authentic Italian appearance.
